LEHIGH VALLEY, Pa., June 26 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Air Products (NYSE: APD) has named Richard Boocock vice president, Information Technology and Chief Information Officer. He succeeds Glenn Beck, who has retired from the company. Most recently, Boocock served as vice president, Tonnage Gases Europe and Middle East.

Boocock joined Air Products in 1982 as a participant in the company's Career Development Program. He spent a good part of his 26-year career with the company in various engineering and business management positions within the Tonnage Gas and Sale of Equipment businesses. Boocock led the Electronics business in Europe from 1995-2000 and subsequently headed the European arm of the global information technology function. In 2001 Boocock transferred to Air Products' corporate headquarters in the U.S. as global program lead for the implementation of SAP into Air Products worldwide and completed the first four successful releases of SAP.

Boocock graduated from Birmingham University in 1982 with a Bachelor of Science (Hons) I degree in chemical engineering and later received an M.B.A. from Henley Management College. He is a member of the Institute of Chemical Engineers.
