LEHIGH VALLEY, Pa., Feb. 17 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Air Products (NYSE:
APD) has made the following executive moves:
Patrick F. Loughlin was named vice president, Environment, Health, Safety
and Quality, effective immediately. He will be responsible for establishing
EH&S policies and standards, setting and tracking performance goals, and
ensuring global consistency within the company's EH&S and global Quality
organizations. Loughlin joined Air Products in 1988 as a participant in the
company's Career Development Program and subsequently held various commercial,
operations and plant management positions in North America, Europe and Asia.
He most recently held the position of director, EH&S-Americas. Loughlin
received a B.S. degree in chemistry from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1981, an
M.S. in chemical engineering from Rutgers University in 1992, and an M.S.M.
degree in management of technology from The Georgia Institute of Technology in
1998. He succeeds Larry W. Allen, who will retire this month.
Wayne M. Mitchell has been named vice president, Global Business Support
Services, effective March 2009. He will be responsible for leading this
newly-formed organization in its efforts to drive efficiency and effectiveness
into select activities within the company's support areas, including Human
Resources, Finance, Customer Engagement, Procurement, Order Management and
Delivery Scheduling. Mitchell joined Air Products in 1988 and subsequently
held various business, sales and marketing management positions within the
company's Chemicals businesses in North America, Europe and Asia. He most
recently served as vice president and general manager, Performance Materials
Division. Mitchell received a B.S. degree from the University of
Christchurch, New Zealand in 1974.
Succeeding Mitchell is Patricia (Pam) A. Mattimore who will become vice
president and general manager, Performance Materials, effective March 2009.
She will have oversight responsibility for the global operations of Air
Products' Performance Materials Division, which combines the company's
technology and market leadership strengths in specialty surfactants,
polyurethane catalysts and epoxy curing agents for the coatings, inks,
adhesives, civil engineering, personal care, institutional and industrial
cleaning, mining, oil field, polyurethane and other industries. Mattimore
joined Air Products in 1982 as a participant in the company's Career
Development Program and subsequently held positions in applied research and
development, standard plants, and sales and major accounts management.
Mattimore has served as president, Air Products Electronic Chemicals and most
recently held the position of vice president, Energy and Materials. Mattimore
received a B.A. degree in chemical engineering from Lafayette College in 1982.
Succeeding Mattimore is Laurie K. Stewart who will become vice president,
Energy and Materials, effective March 2009. She will be responsible for
managing all aspects of global procurement and strategic sourcing efforts,
which includes energy, capital, corporate and raw materials. She also will
manage the Corporate Real Estate and General Services organizations. Stewart
joined Air Products in 2003 as vice president and treasurer. She subsequently
was named vice president and controller of Tonnage Gases, Equipment and Energy
and most recently served as vice president of Global Decision Support. Prior
to joining Air Products, Stewart held a broad range of financial positions at
Marathon Oil Company and Pennzoil-Quaker State Company. She holds a B.S.B.A.
degree in finance from Bowling Green University, graduated from the Harvard
Business School Advanced Management Program, and is a licensed Certified
Public Accountant.
