Numerous developmental products for the nonwovens industry are being introduced by Air Products Polymers, L.P. (Booth #858) at IDEA'01, the International Nonwovens Conference & Exposition to be held March 27-29, 2001 in Miami Beach, Fla. As a leading supplier to the nonwovens industry, Air Products Polymers distinguishes itself by providing not just high-quality binders, but innovative solutions to the most pressing challenges faced by the nonwovens industry.

Air Products Polymers' new developmental products being introduced at the conference are designed to bring unique performance advantages to nonwovens structures. They include:

  • AIRFLEX® 181 DEV Binder—A self-laminating binder that can produce powder containing structures or multi-layer composites without adhesives.
  • AIRFLEX 114 DEV Binder—Compatible with cationic additives, this nonionic binder has an outstanding balance of properties and can incorporate a broad array of additives into web structures without sacrificing performance.
  • AIRFLEX EN1555 DEV Binder—This transport layer binder offers excellent resiliency, acquisition and rewet, and can allow cellulose structures to replace synthetics.

In addition, Air Products Polymers will also be highlighting three experimental-stage products with unique characteristics such as low-temperature cure, increased adhesion to synthetics, and high-temperature performance at IDEA'01. While these products are not fully commercialized, they are available to support customers' nonwoven product development efforts. Air Products Polymers can also be called upon to provide additional information and product samples to facilitate research and development activities.

Air Products Polymers will also be exhibiting its extensive line of AIRFLEX vinyl acetate-ethylene and ethylene-vinyl chloride copolymer emulsions, and VINAC® vinyl acetate-polyvinyl alcohol polymer and vinyl acetate homopolymer emulsions for the nonwovens industry. A leading producer and supplier to the industry for more than 25 years, Air Products Polymers offers customers comprehensive technical capabilities beneficial in the production of a broad range of nonwoven structures. Key applications for the company's products include wipes, hygiene, filtration, medical and automotive fabrics.
