Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. (NYSE:APD) today announced that it has entered into a 10-year sales and marketing agreement with Scott Medical Products, a division of Scott Specialty Gases, Inc. This agreement awards Scott the exclusive global sales and marketing rights to Air Products' Selectfluor® and Deoxo-Fluor™ fluorination products for sale within the pharmaceutical industry.

Selectfluor and Deoxo-Fluor fluorinating agents are used as intermediates in the manufacture of pharmaceutical products. "This sales and marketing agreement provides us with a way to sell more fluorination agents to the global pharmaceutical market," said Graham M. Bones, Air Products' general manager, Packaged Gases-North America. "Scott's core business is the production and supply of active pharmaceutical ingredients, specialty gas products and related handling equipment for the health care marketplace. It's a good fit for Air Products and allows us to focus on production and additional product-specific research and development."
